Hi,

What chip are you using? We need to prepare you a basemap so you can test if the ECU is working and no CEL codes...or will these guys also burn a basemap on the chip for you so you can test it?

What we also can do is get you a chip, with a ready burned basemap send it off to you so you can test it.

You probably already posted up your engine specks, but please refresh my memory quicks.

I agree with Dewald, give us the information, we don't want to sit with something we can't work with.

That's good enough, lastly what ECU code(i.e. P28, P13, ....) is it?

We can supply you with a chip with a ready burnt basemap, remember this will only be for testing purposes to see if everything works fine. Thus your engine can only run at idle, if you rev it up it might stall. If everything works fine we come down with the RTP and start tuning.

oh and tell the guys doing ur ECU not to permanently install a wire in the jumper position, rather put in a 2pin jumper connector so you can remove it to return back to the ECU stock map. This helps alot in proving your ECU for fault finding...I also did not permanent soldered the latch on the board, I also used a socket for it, only reason is not to damage the chip when soldering it in and experiences told me not to trust a chip bought from a distributor, they may be faulty and a nightmare to remove...

Still need your ECU code. Have a d16 supercharged basemap for a P30 ecu. I'm picking up the chip's tomorrow.

Ah, you have the non Vtec version of the P28, should look some thing like this:

Do you have the CN2 connector installed?

Please do not cut J12 for now, depending on which editor we gonna use uberdata still uses J12 connected.

What we are saying is depending on editor, crome, uberdata etc. They have specific jumper requirements and pin bridges, Dewald is just alerting you to keep J12 incase we require the use of Uberdata instead.

It will work yes, but we want to see how it works. You can't just burn a chip and expect it to work like a stock map, this is where the CN2 comes into play for tuning, leave the j12 intact for now and install the 4 pin header from position 1 to 4:

Got your chip today, will burn the basemap during the weekend....

ok so back to the project . thanks for the chip guys the car starts but i am grtting cel's. but im sure that not the end of the world at the moment.

ok so my brother didn't need mw to work to day so i go working on my car.

revmove the lower part of the exhaust for east access to every thing drained the coolent system, unbolted and removed the intake fitted the new alty bracket and pullys and new belt. did a test fit and ran into lots of problems.

one the so pully does not sit where it ment to sit the shock tower is in the way. now in the manual it warns about this, but the work around is to hammer the shock tower till you have 5mm clearance... im scared to do that... the power steering pipeing is in the way and i cant seem to find another way to route it. as well as still need to find a place to put the wiring harnes. might allso  need a few other this which i will get as the week goes by.

here are some pic of todays work

Pull the code for us  Cool most likely a failed sensor or something small. The main thing is the car starts and idles Cheesy

Dewald and I are ecstatic for you. Seems they did a good job after all with the soldering.
