I suggested this concept on the Mazda Forum as well. My idea to get the illegal racing guys off the streets would be to organise a place or area where we drivers could roam freely. It would have to have perhaps a warehouse area where we could tune, work on or repair our cars like a pit area and this same area could be used to store some members cars every month or whatever. There should also be a nice area of tarmac which we could use to set up a drag racing area, a track area and a track set up for the drifting fans, perhaps even a skidpan area and an area to park our cars to hold show&shines or even sound comps with no worries about been told not to. The area should also be fenced off and I feel it should be possible to make a membership list of some sort to keep users under check to, even taking down numberplates numbers to ensure everything runs smoothly and all for the good fun of it, and day passes could be issued for low fees for random people showing up to have fun on the circuits etc. The main reason prices should be kept low is because most illegal street racers in South Africa race that way because the motorsport powers of South Africa make it so expensive to enjoy the sport in the purest of it's forms and destroy many natural driving talents around the country. If people wanted to sponsor a place like this monthly they should be allowed to put up their billboards around the areas in due reason and make it feel more like a real raceway and perhaps the sponsors could set up a few shops and showrooms for themselves. The place should also have a check area where cars can be checked out with a pit etc if they've taken a huge knock during the time they've been there for the safety of the owners if they have to drive home. I also feel a small spares shop could also be there keeping essential spares incase of an unforeseen breakdown where the owner could try get his car repaired on site if it wasn't a serious problem, also a tyre shop on track would be great, it wouldn't have to be owned by the track but the track could take a small portion of their profits as payment because many guys screw up their tyres in race events. Anybody thinking of getting a serious place like this up and going? Or a more toned down idea and perhaps closer to where all the people wishing to have the track are and not in the middle of nowhere

Trouble is, MSA rules everything here in SA. It means, ANY ORGANIZED legal racing, has to run through them. Then the costs climb again.

Awesome ideas, we'd be the first shop setting up too Wink
