Gynosis hasn't made a formal introduction just yet but does frequently visit these boards. This is his Jazz (Fit) and he's got some big plans for the amount of sneeze under the hood.

Toyama Racing Spirit is proud to have been sanctioned to provide technical advice, parts and the opportunity to fabricate some custom performance items.

I'll leave the rest to him to chat about  Cool

Thank you jdmmonkey for the brief intro. Here's a list of the mods at the moment:

Engine/Performance
-Mishimoto carbon fibre air intake. (For sale)
-Genuine Carbon fibre engine cover
-Skunk2 short shifter
-HAMP oil filter
Suspension/Handling
-TCR complete bracing kit
-Tein S-tech lowering springs (For sale)
-Gold STR 'lightweight' wheels
-Federal 205/50/15 595 RS-R intermediates
Brakes
-Powerbrake GT discs
-Endless CCA pads
-Motul RBF 600 brake fluid
-Braided brake lines
ICE
-Infinity Reference splits
-Parrot Mki 9200i bluetooth & iPod kit
-Lightning Audio 1600w 4 channel amp
- 2x 8" JBL GTO subs in a custom sealed box
Cosmetic/Styling
-6000k HID's
-Depo JDM style LED tail lights
-OEM red Honda badges
-Custom full leather interior
-JDM centre console/armrest
-Skunk2 weighted gearknob
-35% smash and grab tint

Basically I prepared the car's brakes and suspension before focusing on more power. Last bit for the suspension is a set of BC coilovers.

The L-series engine is essentially the successor to Hondas D-series, that being said NA mods yield minimal gains at best (especially at Gauteng altitude), they do however take to boost very well like the D-series.

Now you may be asking yourself why boost a Jazz of all cars? Well there's a number of factors:
-The chassis itself is actually very good, handling is superb even when stock and the car definitely has this fun factor to it. Still skeptical? Check out Best Motoring's review on the GD3 chassis and how its 'designed' for GT racing.
-The Jazz's tare weight is 990kg!
-I wont be the first boosted Jazz in South Africa, but I will be only one. I bought Dutch Auto's prototype kit.
-Shock value, few people will see this coming. The power to weight ratio should yield dividends.

Doing one of the last cosmetic bits to the car to make it stick out among the sea of Jazz's we see on the roads, once its done I'll post more pics Wink

Comments/criticism welcome...

You've gone about the build in a good manner, handling footwork before power. Although it's the 2nd boosted Jazz in SA history, it's the only one still going  Tongue Let's keep those levels in check and all will be fine.

My main concern is center of gravity - but you've lowered the vehicle a bit and the uprated spring rates of a kit like the BC you're eyeing will reduce roll even further.

This is definitely a fun project with a lot of hidden wow factor. Post up the new pics when all is done

Me thinks I should take you for a drive so you can see how the car performs at present.

Plenty time. I can't remember very clearly - it was a long time ago, I'm sure it was J's but if not apologies, anyway, they rolled theirs coming hot into a corner during a time attack run. Not saying your suspension isn't sorted just know that it's been tried and tested before :-)

wow monkey you're on a roll, drum roll please.... sorry for these cheesy jokes lol. Wow I've never even considered a car could roll again once I got my RX the whole centre of gravity is so so low like a race car what are your plans for the Jazz/Fit suspension? Does it also have coilovers? Strut Braces? Perhaps a firm rollcage for rigidity and a bit more centre weight.

Front upper and lower strut bracing and ditto on the rear. Lowered on Tein S-tech springs at the moment (changing over to BC coilovers next) and Federal 595 RS-R intermediates makes sure this Jazz stays on the road Grin

Late posting but thanks for the evening test drive late last year! The project is set for success on the handling side - good choices and great discussion we had.

Onto more exciting news though - we've begun manufacturing of the prototype exhaust system and downpipe.

We have to replace that back box though, unfortunately after testing there is a lot of back-pressure present - not an expensive part that one and doesn't fit the new systems design very well.

We will be in contact over mail on this ;-)

Update:

We've finished the first prototype of the 63mm system for the Gynosis Turbo Fit/Jazz build a while ago. I don't have images with me at the moment but sure if Gynosis passes by this way he'll had one or two.

I'm busy with development on the new manifold and boost piping setup at this stage.
