Its been a while since i did any updates, as some of you okes know
I hit a bearing knock with the stroker, it was so upsetting that i just left
the car after that. The car been standing for almost 6 months now as i was
financially F@#%.....LOL....

I decided to strip & get it sorted, motor stripped up, block & crank & conrods gone in for engineering
on Monday already. Will get it back by hopefully by friday.
Just ordered a new oil pump, bearings, rings & new cambelt,
Also got a new set of Dohc rims & new rubber, pity i got no pics a the moment,

Whats on the cards, keeping the standard ECU, still doubting a management,
Looking for a set of coil springs, can anybody confirm if a 2 liter & 1300/1600 323 have the same
coil springs. My back springs have sagged big time. Def need a set of Springs.

Will keep you okes updated, i so excited

Had a couplar runs in with a few 2 liter golfies. Those ones
that idle kak rof,

On 1st they stand with me, we both battle for traction. Once i hook 2nd
its GAME OVER .....

She just needs now a lekker suspension upgrade & new brake pads   Shocked

But she going well.....
The only thing i find funny, is that my Idle is sitting quiet high, after a long trip
she idles properly. Where could i have a look first....

What management, oem or aftermarket?

If aftermarket, get your tuner to check temp compensation maps, if oem, you shouldn't be running it with the 2.2

Cheers.

Still Running the OEM standard ECU, as soon as i put the clutch in the Revs shoots to
about 2000RPM & stays there until i give the Acc a kick, then it drops to about 1500rpm.

Dunno if accelerator is getting jammed or what,

Strange, if you take foot of clutch and revs up, usually clutch is toasted, you have the reverse. On other vehicles with OEM ecu's a broken / leaking vacuum line can cause the same thing when the clutch predal is put in all the way or sometimes when shifting to nuetral and leaving it there. Usually about a 5 - 8 second thing then it settles to normal rpm.

The whole thing has to do with the idle adjusting assembly that some OEM ecu's control. I cannot be sure if you have one on your vehicle?! from factory.

Will look something like this if your vehicle has one:

a small non cost investment would be to move the ecu away from under the heater radiator under the dash, had a friend with the same type of 323 dohc and thats were his problems started, water started dripping into the ecu and his car  wud do all kinda strange things, idle high, idle low and use to back fire sometimes until it just finaly gave in and he replace it with a mr turbo system.

Just to let you guy's know, My mazda has  been on the track SAT morn 02/10/2010 at ODI

Im a member of a the VW club of SA & they hosted a VW DRAG DAY  & since my VR6 is a show stopper & not a robot racer but a powerful cruiser, i decided to take the mazda through.

It was a blazer, weather was almost 35 degree's ..... Shocked Shocked

1st run i was in the 16.5's & after 3 run's i manged the best of 15.3 on a 1/4 mile,
What made my day was when the drags started & i ran a nice ABF golfie.

Gonna try Tarlton out soon one Friday night, best i manged there was 15.8 on a 1/4 mile.

But overall im sooo happy !!!!! Grin Grin
