Against a light weight CRX - shows the power this is pushing when it goes over traps at 185kph!

Check the evil eye on his opponent here ;-)

Loving it.

Wayne I don't get that bud? You talking F22? If you are - what are you gaining except headaches for block mod? You'll have to plug some oil passages because they don't line up 100%

Bore will also be smaller. If you were to leave the bottom end as is on the F22 and fit the H22 head you're looking at 2156.31cc vs 2156.73 stock (no big deal) but 8.40cr! - good if you're going to boost but terrible for NA. (Look I did this calc fast so double check that!!)

If the H22A4 pistons work on the F22 rod (think they do), then you could bump up cr again to 10.51. Still doesn't make sense because the block is still open deck.

Fuji has one of these, he will comment I'm sure.

Apologies to jdmmonkey, I previously misinformed that my motor was a f20b sub assembly with a H22 head.

I have in fact a complete f20b motor in my 5th gen prelude, this is the DOHC VTEC motor, not to be confused with the f22a SOHC found in 4th gen preludes. There is also a f20a SOHC motor.

Cant comment on f22/h22 compatibility, just don't know enough.

However for the f20b motor the H22 intake manifold and exhaust bolted straight on.
Jakes installed the f20b for me and made 102kW at the wheels (RBTS) with mild exhaust, stock header!, SKUNK2 intake manifold and T/B.
We also think the cams are the auto version as the VTEC crossover is very mild.
Planning on stage 2 cams and tri-y header next year to realize the potential of the motor.

A J series! Damn, I couldn't imagine the fat torque curve.

Wayne, no it's good you mentiond the F/H Hybrid - it's valid but down to specific requirements.

Thanks for input Fuji! - Then are you sitting with the blue top instead? Euro-R intake.

Well done little vtec Grin, I love vtecs hey, think at present with my power if I do a perfect launch etc I may only hit a late 13 something although on some drag calculator of a friends it says I'll do a late 12 but I feel differently driving the car.

look at this quote for a possible replacement to the H22 on a prelude
quote
"Exactly. People actually put the k20z3 head because the valves, springs, and retainers are more robust, designed to handle multiple overrev's.
so k20z3 head, k24 bottom end, and assorted odds and ends off the k24 so it fits correctly.
This is an excellent frankenstein motor, one of the best choices if you want torque along with your horsepower yet .I've already seen one with very mild cams putting out 250 horsepower and 200 torque.

Thanks for sharing Wayne. The trouble one will run into is subframe clearance but there are ways around that. Definitely a worthy swap - ton of aftermarket motor goodies for the motor. K20/K24 isn't a new idea but it is new to the Prelude community considering the Hasport mounts haven't been available forever.

Just to add, even that swap mount kit will need modification - that particular one was designed for 92-96 chassis.
