Nice thread . . . Grin

I've only experienced little oversteer now and than, but nothing major . . .

I've always enjoyed the Lude's COG . . . But like LHDvtec, I also get some umwanted body roll . . .

I had 205/55/16 all round but now have 205/45/16(+-15 000 kms old) at the front and 205/50/16(brand new) at the back . . .

Hi guys,

Just to bring this thread back to life, I'm using our demo Prelude as a test platform for a few part combination relation to handling. This is everything from strut bars, to x bars, to under bracing to sway bars etc. including correct damping setup and corner balancing. As soon as testing completes we should get together as 'Luders and discuss.

I'm testing everything from custom bits to big brands, Cusco, UR, Tanabe etc. I will not rest until I've resolved the handling issues that plague so many of you guys (including myself)

Cheers

yes I am not a prelude driver but I must say myself as a driver I prefer understeer because it tends to help me attack a corner at greater speed.  Grin

Under-steer is the slowest way around the track Wink factory vehicles are developed with intentional under-steer due to a court case many years ago in the USA due to new drivers losing control with over-steering setups. Which is damn silly, either way - you are either going to spin out and hit the front or back.

An under-steering car is easier to drive mostly and good for non serious drivers, but no good for track.

A quick time attack car almost always borders excessive over-steer. The day you're really ready to attack some of the local tracks, I'll help setup your car properly (assuming you've got the parts.)

LHDVtec took me for a test drive and even let me drive his neat car. As everybody says the car is prone to oversteering which is great, it seems a bit twitty on high speed long bends while correcting. LHD has a over active oversteer feel though because of how his rear end almost feels as if it wants to float about but doesn't really lose grip, lots of rear end roll feel. The front is solid though seems to point to corners with such great accuracy. LHDVtec is a great guy was great meeting him really was

Could this system the ACTIVE TORQUE TRANSFER SYSTEM not be the simple reason for the car feeling like it's a bit twitchy in high speed corners because the computer is considering trying to out-think the driver? Big thanks again to LHDVtec for the drive(Almost considered giving you petrol and cruising for a while lol) in his, am really interested in getting it but having talks with the gf to see how she feels about everything. Would love to give the entire suspension a good look over possibly with my tuner to make sure he feels the same as I do about why she is handling like she does when you drove her. I have your number LHDVtec and we chat on here a bit too when I can, so will keep you posted on the possibility of buying your car buddy Grin

Ah awesome, thanks Wayne. I was just assuming they all had that system in 5th Gen form and didn't know it was only a select few lol. I'm sure with some select upgrades the car can be made to feel like it's on rails. My RX7 feels like it's bolted to the road even when the back steps out. Would love to see your lude bud

? Guys, I've resolved the bad handling trouble already through R&D we did. The trouble is no one is prepared to buy the right goods Shocked

Wayne, you're semi correct, Type S does have ATTS but so does Type SH. None of these were locally available. Yours, LHDVtec and my own (by choice) does not have the ATTS system fitted.

My personal reason for not fitted a box with this setup is ecu control and power limit, they crap out after 150 wheel kw.

And I hate computers trying to tell me what to do, I'll out drive a computer car with all that I am because you need to feel the road and the car not calculate it.

The ATTS system does work Rob, but you're right, if you can't drive... you can't drive.
