You talking about the Type S intake you bought a while back? From factory it's dynamic chamber design speeds up air velocity considerably, so not that it's "smoothed out" exactly. Gains should be awesome!

Aaah ok, the design itself provides efficient air flow, not necessarily the smoothest surface . . . Smiley

Wait, we got the same air intake . . . ?

I love it . . . Cool

Yes :-) Same intake as you dude. Only one I'd fit to the motor in NA form.

Well, its been really quiet on my side, have'nt done much on the car, except for an engine bay clean up a few months back. . . Tongue

And this week, I had the gearbox dropped for a fork selector that was on its way out.
Its generally a common problem on these boxes. . . Lips sealed

The box was left with Gearbox centre in Durban and they sourced the spares from their suppliers and was fitted back on yesterday. Parts that were replaced were the 5th gear syncro, and fork selector. I was waiting for them to tell me what spares to supply, but they went ahead and fitted everything. . . Huh

It seems to be going fine and they do carry a warranty, hopefully I do not have to make use of that warranty, hahahaha . . . Grin

Sadly the front engine mount also gave way, when I drove the car after the box was installed, there was a vibration going through the entire car. The mechanic got under there this morning and the motor was making contact with the cross member just below. . . Sad

So the mount was taken off and sent to a shop in Pinetown for wrapping in polyurethane and hopefully I will have the car back tomorrow . . . Sad

Its been a rough week man . . . Embarrassed

The thought of putting it up for sale did cross my mind . . . Lips sealed

Sometimes the selling of the Lude entertains your thoughts for a little while, when it's fixed again and all is well you'll know you made the right choice.

Let us know how the Poly mod goes, if they do a good job you shouldn't feel too much vibration (all depends on construction of the mount).

Aavi, chin up :-)

Man, it was not cool. . . Sad

I'm not a naturally patient person and like results quickly, so seeing the car like that and in someone else's hands/shop did not go down well . . . Embarrassed

Yeah, I just called the mouldings place now and the part might only be available tomorrow . . .
The entire process takes almost 24 hours, blasting and curing and blah blah . . .
So lets see how it goes . . .

Thanks Sean . . . Smiley

Aaah, so I got the car back today(late afternoon) and it is in need of a mini valet which I will get down to tomorrow, btu all in all car is going well with the polyurethane mount, I did not get a chance to take a pic, but it has 3 vents or perforations, if I can call them that. . .

So it does not carry the vibration through to the cross member, which is tops . . . Smiley

I just need to do another engine clean, after greasy hands messed up valve cover and other bits . . . I also have a spare rear light, was thinking of palying around, maybe smoking it and seeing what the outcome will be . . .  Cheesy

Glad you got the vehicle back, the "vents" definitely needed to be made in that mount or your driving pleasure would suffer a bit :-)

Post pictures of your smoked rear light if you decide to try it.

Aaahh, its been a while . . . Cheesy

The car has been such a pleasure, have been for interviews in PMB, Port Shepstone, Newcastle and I was in Gauteng for the Human rights day week. Roughly 3k kms in the past 3 weeks.

I've found employment in Newcastle and will be starting there in April Smiley

So hopefully I'll be splashing out on something nice for the 'lude in the next few months.  Grin

Aavi, again congrats on the new job! May your future be filled with many great things. I know what you mean on the cruising potential for the lude, km's later and you're still feeling as fresh as when you climbed behind the wheel.

These cars are spectacular and for the decerning only.
