Engine:
I've been looking through all of the tuners on the net, I love Spoon tuning but I can't find anything of theirs for a H22A engine, the other people I was hoping to see with parts for the prelude also don't seem to have too much. The names left on my list of tuning parts are Skunk2, Crower and JUN. Crower seemed to be the company people used to love for cams and internals but they have been on many posts for random cam snaps causing havoc inside Vtec heads but people liked them for their nice quiet idle etc, JUN are always good but have also had a few cam snaps according to users but very rare snaps so pretty good power and sound all round is why users like them, Skunk2 I've like for a while and have also had a few cam snaps but also not a common occurance and they make good power and rev up higher not to mention Skunk2 make many other internals and intakes for preludes. The best intake seems to be the AC intake apparently. Most power seen on a N/A prelude that I've seen is 270 whp and that was made with many internal mods but no capacity change and throttle bodies etc. I'm even considering giving my own tuner a shot with the stock cams and seen what profile change he can come up with to vastly increase the power of the engine, also a freer flowing exhaust system all the way through.

Drivetrain:
As far as I've read off the net it seems the auto box can only handle about 250hp then it breaks even easier. So it's been suggested by almost all to swop it out for a manual with a lightened flywheel and racing clutch and only those without the swop say it's an issue to drive everyday, those with it suggest that it's the best first modification for the 5th gen prelude.

ECU:
I know many people on the net seem to be talking about Venom as been cheap and workable, they also speak of all the usual brand names but I tend to lean towards Hondata with Flashpro. I have yet to learn more about Tomaya Racing Spirits alternatives which seem to be great too but the going trend is Hondata at present because of the high revving options and options to save your maintenence plan.

Suspension:
Looking at lowering the car slightly with a proper lowering spring kit. And fitting perhaps coilovers or have a few other changes in mind too like strut braces.

Wheels:
Looking at either keeping the stock wheels and refurbishing them or getting a nice set of type R wheels in white for a wider stance and more grip and viewing pleasure.

Brakes:
The usual braking upgrades with stronger calipers and discs that are slotted and vented and cross drilled with Green stuff or EBC brake pads.

Body:
Considering keeping the outside stock or making it white with the type R or Spoon look but also considering vastly doing weight reduction all over the car to get the most optimum performance possible.

Give your feedback and input on what you guys feel thanks

Show link to JUN cams snapping please? I deal with them daily, it's the only parts I'd use on the H22 in NA form (cam side).

Best intake the AC? Once again send link. If you're going NA, look at Euro R single runner. It does require some port matching and flow work but been proven to perform (search: Skunk2 vs Euro R manifold)

Manual all the way, agreed  Cool

You only save maintenance plan on flash pro products, not their normal ECU's - if you're modding full NA, you not going to get away with just flash pro. PS: Our units are capable of running as high as 10,000rpm.

Suspension, spring rates - spring rates - spring rates. You need the right combo front and rear with the correct shock (compression / rebound). I've done extensive testing on the BB6 chassis - if you're dead serious about getting it right, setup a meeting with me.

Wheels. Just make sure you keep within good offsets, search for wheel offset explained here and read (if you can't find it alert me to check if it was archived).

Brakes. Why cross drilled? Weakens the entire structure for the most part (take a careful look at most racing teams, they run slotted only). If you're looking for a great deal, contact us, we deal Powerbrake products locally, and deal Project Mu and Endless products in terms of Internationals.

Body, Good ideas there, would look neat. Function over form. Always.

Cheers.

This is just a few of the links talking about JUN cams amongst others breaking. They say improper fitment but I did find a case once where the guy had his in for a couple years then they snapped while he was on a track day, some say the cam snaps are due to the titanium parts been too weak.

This is just 3 of these links that I've been reading, many others were more intense. Crower doesn't have good backup service like JUN though, if JUN breaks anything they seem to offer to replace parts etc. And Skunk2 do not have many posts about them but I can find if you want. As for TODA people love them but they're for utter speed freaks and seem so damn cool and also have been known to break every so often bud. I'm all for cams though so I'd take my chances even if I know they might break at some point.

This is a link to the intake claiming to be the best for the H22

That AC manifold is only going to work with the correct compression / high boost. Equal length straight runners but horrible taper design.

All of those links are related to B-Series, there are trouble with rocker arm and other components when matched with the compound JUN uses for their billets. So yes, mix of fitment error / education. JUN stand behind their products, as seen it that one thread.

We're talking H-Series here however and they had huge claim to fame with their Yellow Lemon Prelude. Lot's of H22 R&D there :-)
