Hi guys, I own a 1988 Mazda 323 that currently still has the standard 1.3 carb motor. The plan is to swap it with a B6T as soon as the funding is there  Grin Here is a link to my ride thread over at the MOCSA forum: http://www.mazdaownersclub.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=4928

If anyone on here knows where I can get the front sway bar including brackets and rubbers from I would be a very happy man as I have been looking for one for ages Sad The 1.3 didn't come with one standard.

Damn I will be a happy camper if I can get that sway bar! Cornering will be so much better! The moment I get some time I will copy over my build thread from the MOCSA forum onto here showing all my mods etc! This is my first car and man has it given me a love and passion for Mazda! You don't know the feeling till you have owned one!
Please PM me ASAP on that part then I will make a plan! I have a feeling I will be in contact with you a lot as I am looking for a whole list of parts.

hey chris welcome, snap I've also got a Mazda 1300 he he he Tongue
Come on go jdm crazy on your little Mazda and make it into a Japanese pocket rocket. I think it's a great candidate for a rotary transplant instead so you can keep 1.3 on the back with the badge lol

Couldn't agree more with all of you. Sure these are not Ferrari's but damn my little 323 has memories and I can't wait to finish her track build too.

Well if he fits a series 6 rx7 engine, he could be laughing off challenges by many sportscars, I mean imagine how fast that'd be and if he made it rear wheel drive that'd be a true hot hatch hey

HAHA ^^ That would be mad if you ask me. I know how my cars brakes are and they would not be able to keep up with that  Grin And too much trouble for my everyday car. I need a reliable swap, which is why I want to go for the B6T. Very little modding needed and because of that less to go wrong. If it was a toy I would be really tempted to go rotary.

Hey hey hey I have upgraded the only thing that ever goes wrong which are the seals to 2mm seals so now mine is reliable as a house lol. But do the b6t swop and perhaps get neat stock badges made making it look like it came from japan. Maybe speak to jdm perhaps he can organise the motor etc. I love my rx7 though it's the supercar of Japan he he he

No prob finding a 13B-REW, just shout  Cool it would be sick - that's for sure. And Chris... I've got you covered on the brakes side of things too.

Haha I wasnt saying the rotary is unreliable, but that all the changes I need to do to the car will make everything difficult and problematic. What I've heard of the Rx7's motors is that they are pretty reliable?
I am definitely set on the B6T, which will also need a break upgrade, so Jdmmonkey, you can tell me about those  Smiley I would prefer to keep them as is with just proper pads and discs. Maybe do a rear swap to discs.

The badges Idea is very good. Sadly I think the B6T only came in the GTX in Japan which was a 3 door so I wont be able to make that look happen  Sad My idea in the looks department is to generally keep it as is and create a sleeper. Also in the pipeline will be a suspension upgrade with a small drop but I don't want those rubbish autostyle things so I'll need to do some research into that when the time comes. But first I need more power!  Tongue

Shot for the plug Rob! *bows*

Chris, just heard back on the front sway bar - only have a proper answer Friday / Monday. Sorry it's going to take this long - they are slightly... scarce now.

Seems like I now know the man to know in the 323 trade in SA! Hopefully I will have the cash together at the end of the year and will then phone around for the best price and best motor I can get. I know turbo toys recently sold one for 6.5grand(with near to 60k KM on). My budget for the whole swap is minimum 15grand which should be enough to get the car on the road with the new motor. After that mods will be added like suspension and brakes and exhaust.
